About
About the Forum
A politically independent professional and community initiative for everyone committed to foreign affairs, diplomacy and international relations.
Who we are
A professional community for the future of foreign affairs
The Hungarian Youth Foreign Affairs Forum is a politically independent professional and community initiative that connects young people committed to foreign affairs, diplomacy and international relations with practitioners and experienced foreign-policy actors.
Our aim is to build an open, values-based and sustainable professional community that provides space for dialogue, networking, mentoring and the transfer of knowledge between generations.
Why the Forum was founded
Where two sides meet
For young people interested in a career in foreign affairs and diplomacy, practical experience, personal professional guidance and a direct connection to the foreign-policy community are often hard to come by.
At the same time, a substantial body of knowledge and experience has accumulated in Hungarian diplomacy, international organisations, the institutions of the European Union, foreign economic relations and international law.
The Hungarian Youth Foreign Affairs Forum aims to be the meeting point of these two sides: a community that supports the next generation of foreign-affairs professionals, preserves and passes on professional experience, and fosters cooperation across generations and disciplines.
Our mission
The future of Hungarian foreign affairs is shaped by the cooperation of experience and the next generation.
Community
We build a politically independent, values-based and cohesive professional community in foreign affairs — an environment defined by professionalism, openness, mutual respect and cooperation.
Connection
We create professional relationships, mentoring opportunities and long-term partnerships, and provide a meeting space for students, early-career and active professionals, and experienced foreign-policy actors.
Knowledge transfer
We connect experienced foreign-affairs professionals with members of the next generation, so that the knowledge, experience and professional culture built up in diplomacy and international affairs can be passed on.
Next generation
We support the professional development of young people committed to a career in foreign affairs, diplomacy and international relations, helping them start out with practical knowledge, guidance and real opportunities to connect.
